If I leave the heating on during the night. I have tried the "leave a bowl of water on the sideboard" thing and it does not work. Does anybody else get this with gas heating? Thank you.

If the headaches are that bad you might want to get your boiler serviced and checked out.

Having heating on at night isn't good and doesn't help you sleep - turn it off and use an extra blanket and a hot water bottle instead.

Some time back I read that the ideal sleeping temperature is 67F. I usually keep my home at around 72F during the day - that's comfortable without being excessive. If I were you, I'd invest in a couple of small humidifiers...or you can just put cups or bowls of water around the rooms to keep the air moisture at a decent level. If you're in the UK, you can get this little things you hang off the radiators that you fill with water too.

You might have allergies! and that can be a reason, if I can
make a suggestion, may I say! buy a small electrical portable
heater, and use it only when you need it to get the place warmed up, then turn it off, but at least it's not gas operated.

Either you are dehydrating in the heat, or there is a problem with the boiler, is it open flued? and do you have ventilation? Make sure the vent is clear if you have one, but have the appliance checked anyway.

yes,its because centeral heating takes the moisture out of the air,try leaving a little top window open for fresh air,or drinking more fluids, have a glass of water before you go to bed.

You need a humidifier. First check for carbon monoxide but if that's okay you need a humidifier. That should help you out. Good luck.

Yes, we have gas heating. It often makes me feel sick and my skin feels dried out. I get the odd headache too, oddly enough. Not good is it?

Carbon monoxide is odorless, colorless, and accumulates in your body. In fact, it combines with hemoglobin 300 times better than oxygen. Get your furnace checked at once!!!
