I find walking my dogs everday makes a big diff, not a massive long walk but about 30 mins and the dogs love it 2!! And keeping my house clean does wonders too, just doing everyday cleaning a little more stretched than you normally do it.........and the obvious when its bedtime and me and my fella go to bed - thats the most enjoyable way of keeping me body fit!!!

Well, "Reindeer", I'm with "Cyanide" on this one--since I am in a wheelchair now. So, I must be very aware that I don't over-eat a lot so that I won't gain a lot of weight and be unable to get rid of it due to in-activity.

Fortunately, for me--I live alone, and have no small children around, so I don't stack the house with all the candy and "goodies" that lots of folks have around--especially at this time of the year. And, I've gone to eating nothing but whole-grain breads, and lower calorie snacking such as: celery stuffed with peanut butter or cream cheese and popcorn, and lots and lots of sugar-free Jello! And yes Ladies (and "Reindeer"), you can get VERY creative with this (Sugar-free Jello) and if you have NOT tried it--please do so! It's actually BETTER than the age-old regular Jello, with about a 1/4 pound of sugar in every 4 serving box! It has much STRONGER taste of the fruit rather than just the sweetness of the sugar, and basically ZERO calories! And. . .just for YOU "Reindeer", and anyone else who'd like a recipe for a GREAT (low calorie) desert, side dish, snack,or a wonderful "pot luck" dish--this is something wonderful for diabetics, too--here ya go:

1 16 oz. container low-fat Cottage cheese
1/2 12 oz. container frozen whipped topping
(low-fat or reduced calorie)
1 8-serving size box Sugar-free Jello
(strawberry, strawberry/banana or raspberry)
1/2 C. whole strawberries (fresh or frozen--
(no sugar added), sliced
1/2 C. Miniture marshmellows (approx.
80 calories)

In a medium-sized bowl (with lid) dump in entire container of cottage cheese. Add the (1/2 container) of whipped topping and mix together. Open the package of Jello---do NOT prepare--dump this directly into your mixture, and mix well with a wire whisp until completely disolved. Add strawberries, mix well. Fold in the marshmellows, mix together. Cover and refrigerate for several hours (needs set-up time) before serving. This will BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF! Note to diabetics: Omit the mini-marshmellows--they are ALL sugar!

This can be altered to taste by simply substituting:
Orange Sugar-free Jello + 1 small can water packed Mandarin oranges(drain water off oranges) if desired, add 1/2 C. well drained Pineapple tidbits (or chunks) to this also.

You can get as creative as you want with this one and it never fails---ENJOY!!
Merry Christmas, "Reindeer"!
