(I ordered "coarse sand",

but the receipt reads "washed concrete sand".

And, its supposedly going to be delivered soon after they open for business again -- they're closed until then, so I can't very well call to find out.)

I'm concerned that it might refer to "washed finishing sand", which I really don't want!

it can be, did you define coarse to the business, you can drive to the business if close when they open and see the sand before they load it and decide then.

there are two kinds of aggregates that are used in concrete mixture.

one is the coarse aggregates or commonly referred to as gravel, and the other is fine aggregates or commonly called as sand.

to me, the washed concrete sand that the receipt refers to is washed or cleaned aggregates and is preferrable to be used in concrete mixture since it is free of silty or clayey materials.

if it is not what you really wanted, you could always have it replaced.

yes they are sold as the same ...there would be few applications where unwashed coarse sand would be needed...all concrete plants carry washed sand whether it is concrete sand or masons sand...
