Like the Democrat Truman, Palpatine used WMD's against his enemies.

Like Democrats today Palpatine claims that these acts were necessary and were not really as evil as they sound, and that they are exactly the actions he is working against.

No, all signs point to him being a conservative Republican. He'd be a hero of Republicans everywhere if he were real.
