We celebrated Christmas early this year, and my niece, also 6, received a Barbie Laptop for about $30 or $40 dollars. She was swooning over it! Also she received some Barbie clothing for maybe $12 and she LOVED it. That's good enough.

Usually I spend more on birthdays. I try to focus on the Lord's birth at Christ Mass time so they know this baby was born so they can get into heaven. Otherwise we'd be walking in the desert.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

I wouldn't spend more than $50 at the absolute most! Christmas is not meant to be just about presents, it is to celebrate Chirst's birth. Plus, you can get a lot for $50 that a 6 year old would love...there's no need to spend more than that.

A decent amount to spend on a six year old child for Christmas would probably be 200 dollars. I mean, I have no clue about your financial situation but that's how much money my gifts were when I was six. =]

Merry CHRISTmas!

You should really spend whats okay for you at the time.
We usally pick a few things that are really wanted and go with that. Remember it's not going to be about presants always you also need to be able to teach her the true meaning of christmas !!!

Salam

There is no better gift than the gift of love and peace and patience and that doesn't require any cost other than you time and your love and your peace and patience.
Where did you all loose that idea long time ago that you have to fill the malls and spend like mental retards to fill the pockets of Rockafeller and Goldburg again? Wake up!

In this day and time? Spend as much as you can. It is hard to give a figure, toy prices have gone crazy, some places are having some great sales though.
