What was the worst non-fatal crash in F1 and when did it happen?

Also, I remember a crash where a car went **** over tit after hitting another car (possibly involving Riccardo Patrese).either in the late 80's or mearly 90's. Does anyone remember this and have there been many similar incidents?

Martin Brundle in the 1996 Australian GP was pretty huge.

Derek Daly at Monaco in 1980 was impressive too.

Andrea de Cesaris needs a mention for Austria 1985:

Derek Warwick's Monza spectacular from 1990.

Again at Monza, this time Christian Fittipaldi in 1993.

Nelson Piquet demolishing his Williams at Imola in 1987, just where Berger and later Senna would have their big accidents.

Patrese hitting Berger from behind at Estoril in 1992.

Ukyo Katayama's big one at Estoril in 1995.

Worst F1 Crashes

Martin Brundle in Australia 1995 was pretty big, the 10 car Spa pile up was too, alongside Alonso in Brazil the other year. For my money, though I'd have to say Robert Kubica's crash in Canada this year was the worst I'd seen - I honestly thought he would be a goner, but to only walk away with a sprained ankle was amazing.

Kubica's crash this year was the worst. Never before have I seen a driver crash like that and survive with only a slight concussion and sprained ankle. Then again, modern technology enable for more improved safety. But the Nikki Lauda full body burn was horrific too.

here you go, here's 10 of them from the 90's.

my favourite (if that is really an appropriate thing to say) is Fitipaldi's at Monza. he went over the line and finished the race, prety cool I think.

of course everyone must agree that the most dramatic crash must have been Spa 98.

I also think Kubica's crash this year was pretty spectacular and a testement to the advanced safety of an F1 car.

just imagine if this happened for real http://uk.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=UOrUTaDclp8

I think it was this year's Canada GP where Kubica had a major accident that totally smashed his car. Kubica wasn't badly injured due to the safety systems on the car. It was the HANS kit that really saved his life. He had to miss a race to fully recover.

The start at Spa in 1998: Only three cars in the entire pack of 22 survived and not a single driver was injured.

Kubica's crash last year in Canada was very frightening!

others:
*David Coulthard's crash when he was in McLaren in Spa and there was a 10-car pile-up.
*Jacques Villeneuve's crash when he was with BAR at Spa (qualifiying lap)

Martin Brundell at Monaco a fair few years ago.He hit the barrier at full speed and the car completely disintergrated and he was left in the middle of the track strapped into his his seat.
