It depends how close to the well the driveway is and which direction the runoff from the driveway flows. If runoff flows away from the well I would not be very worried. Dug wells are more likely to be contaminated than drilled wells. The old fashioned rock salt is the safest ice melter you can get. Another option is to spread sand for traction.

any rock salt will work on you driveway, I think your talking about products designed especially for ice removal, those products contain calcium chloride, and a few other chemicals to keep them working below 30* these products are also toxic to pets, and can damage concrete surfaces, but neither of the products will be able to enter your drinking water, most areas now require a minimum well depth of at least 50ft. it only takes 6ft. of soil to filter out the impurity's from your septic waste water, so it should be pretty safe.
