Too early to be judged.Like any such other situations, the effects shall be both ways but human ingenuity shall be able to tackle them with minimal disruptions.Trend would continue to veer towards nuclear families and it's associated fall outs may get more magnified.

The Indian family has clearly been affected by the processes of globalization in recent years. The BPO culture in particular has touched the "Family System" in negative ways. While more money has entered the family, young people experience social isolation, loneliness, fatigue etc. due to unreasonable work hours. I know of instances where this has led to breakdown in family life. Furthemore, with access to a larger pay check, young people are able to make independent decisions today (it can be both positive and negative), and this freedom could often be construed as negative by the traditional family system in India.
