Working:- See here the LCM is 35.....So multiply -3 by seven to get the common denominator...Yo get -21+8/7 = -13/35
Its as simple as that...

what you need to do first is have a common denominator. since 5 and 35 are not equal, you must multiply the 5 by 7 to get 35. the numerator must be multiplied by 7 too. now you have:
-21/35 + (8/35)
-21 + 8 = -13
so your answer is -13/35
