You could ask why women aren't as famously funny as men, because in real life they are. Men tend to use humour to belittle people a lot, and I don't find that funny.

Humor is highly subjective and personal. What you consider to be hilarious might not be the same for someone else. It's just that women aren't as likely to laugh at jokes they consider to be unfunny as men are. I've seen men laugh at jokes I thought were offensive and then they told me later they didn't like the jokes either. It seems to have to do with peer pressure. Men are more likely to want to go along with the group when they are with other men than women are when they are with a group of other women.

Just because women aren't as likely to find fart jokes, penis jokes, and bathroom humor to be funny, that doesn't mean they lack a sense of humor.

Humor is subjective. If you believe women are not as funny as men, then you're probably a fan of "bathroom humor," and such, the type where it is still socially unacceptable for women to participate.

In my opinion,
Tina Fey, Lucille Ball, Madelyn Pugh, Amy Sedaris, and Samantha Bee are all just a sample of hilarious women. Not to mention my best friend, who is a female, is one of the funnies people I've ever met.

Edit: LOL, RobLee, did you make that up on your own?

Your premise is wrong. Women are funnier to other women and men are funnier to other men. They are both funny but in different ways. Humor is subjective and all humor have target audiences who will 'get' the joke better than those not in the target audience. Just because a women doesn't laugh when you shove her head under the covers and fart does not mean she's incapable of being funny. She's just funny on a different plain that you might not get.

I agree-It's more likely that women find other women funny, and men will find other men funny-we have different ways of looking at things and value different things. Frankly, a lot of male humor is slapstick, and I find it stupid and boring, not funny. I find male political humor the best among male humor, but again, the majority of it is conservative, which I find boring and stupid as well.

Incorrect. Women can be as funny as men, it's just that our society tends to expect male comedians. Just like being a rock star several decades ago, women were just as capable but it was not really an acceptable path for women, so more men were successful, even though men are no more talented musically.

For women, a sense of humor is an important requirement in a mate. They want a man who can make them laugh. Whereas, MOST men would probably care more about finding an attractive girl who will laugh at THEIR jokes, rather than make them laugh. (Taking this into account, you could argue that women care MORE about laughing than men do, which is certainly telling). So, the emphasis is different. Men are expected to be funny and successful, women are expected to be pretty. So it's no surprise that many women's senses of humor may go uncultivated. Society is the problem, not women's sense of humor.

Being funny requires the comedian to test the boundaries of society. Women are not good at this as doing so risks being a social outcast, which increases the risk a baby would suffer too.
Women very much have the herd mentality.

Women's DNA is hard-coded to act in herd mentality. This is why "feminism" exists. It is nothing more than organized nagging.

Hmmmm, fairly true in most cases and it's a good thing too. Love having a good old belly laugh at male comedians and jokes. Women perhaps aren't as funny(in most cases) because it's not something that's needed to attract a mate, although laughing and appreciating men who are funny will be attractive in itself.
And Aussie comedians absolutely rock. Carl Barron's my fave.
