I don't know of any but you bring up a very good point. Why isn't there any for the forgotten few. With todays advances in technology there are many things that could be developed on software to enhance or improve the lives of the physically and mentally handicapped. This might be a good question for you to put to Microsoft or other software blog sites. That is a great question you brought up. Although I, at first had difficulty answering your question at first, it suddenly came to me, that the software companies should be contributing something to benefit the disadvantaged. After all, they are making millions off of us "normal" people. Good question. You should get 10 points for that one.

yes there are for children learning to talk who have autism . It is quite expensive though. pictures with words. Maybe there are things for for other brain problems but this would work for both. Just search the web under autism cd or something like that..I know there are brain exercise cds to help the brain stay strong into old age, help with memory etc. I have seen that on my public television station here in NC being used to raise money for the station.

I found this, and there's a ton more software out there (Google it) http://www.biof.com/onlinestore/aphasia/index.asp?redirect=yes
Also, on the vocabulary there is a lot of software (some free) designed to help kids learn vocabulary for school and the SAT, maybe that will work.

"My Word Coach" (go with this one first if you can only get one), "Brain Age II", and "Big Brain Academy" for the Nintendo DS might be worth considering.
Best of luck to you,
