Sorry Bud, but these two are not capable of such an act. If it isn't controversial or causing an ever further rift between the party's they would have nothing to say.
They are so determined that they, and only they are right in any discourse, that they would refuse to listen to any other ideas.
With Nancy and Harry it is either "My way, or the highway!"
There will be no relenting. Congress will continue to remain in a shambles until the American people wake up and vote in people who truly want to represent all of us.

It is time for them to fold their cards and become Americans again. If they would work with the president instead of just trying to pass legislation they know will not get passed then their approval rating would go through the roof.
Unfortunately they realize that this will also boost the president's approval ratings. They never take their eyes off the prize of being in the white house as well as the majority in congress. They are playing political games to gain power whilst American lives are on the line. In essence they are playing a game with the lives of our brave and patriotic American troops. Shame on Palosi and Harry Reid. Shame!

They are doing what those who elected them are wanting them to do, hamper the war and attack Bush. But they also made some promises that they had no chance of keeping. For some reason, they got people to believe it was within their power to make tactical and strategic military decisions and it was their Constitutional job to be the "checks and balances" on the White House. Who is their "checks and balances"?
They have failed to end the war as they promised, they have failed totally to do anything about illegal immigration. All they complained about was the failure of Bush to secure our ports, airports and borders. Since they have been in control of the Congress and Senate for almost a year, NOTHING. And that is something they DO have the power to legislate. They have been a bunch of whining, hand wringing defeatists who wanted to be in control of pulling the strings. Well, they have had them in their hands now for some time and they have accomplished almost nothing of benefit to the nation. And with an election beginning next month, their candidates are long on pointing out the problems of the last 7 years but are extremely vague on what they are going to do about it. They seem to be following the Kerry mantra "I can do it smarter and better". Well, the American people are smarter than that.

Yes they should----problem here is that the far left-wing of the party has taken it over--its almost an impossible job. At one time Reid thinking was almost in line with Republicans---and in particular Ron Paul thinking--Reid introduced a bill in congress in the 1980's to audit the FED(which had never been done and still hasn't). Why I cannot support democrats is that as he did they let themselves be influenced by interests for political reasons that are detrimental to our nation---course this is also true of most of congress.

Has there ever been an instance when our country was at war and the United States Congress acted in such an indifferent manner?
Oh, I know Harry and Nancy and that bunch Talk about the war, but why the hell won't they Support the men and women who are involved in it?
Best and most honorable course of action they can undertake is to give the DoD the money they need instead of mewling about partisan obstruction.

When I watch the news about Wash, my first reaction is that the Dems don't have a pair of balls in all of them together. But then when I think about it, it isn't so much that they don't have guts, it is because they are the like the caring mother who is afraid of making it worse by calling the cops when the abusive father comes home drunk (I know about this - personally).
The president is currently threathening to make things worse and blame it on the Dems. There's that - but also our soldiers will really suffer if the congress came to fillibuster.
This Bush is worried about his LEGACY when people are dying. Go figure.
Good Luck and keep asking good questions.

I would be impossible for Reid and Pelosi to lead, they are both followers.
A leader has to be up front and when he or she says something, it has to be so. You can't just say you are going to do something and then when it becomes unpopular, you change your mind.
