First of all, you need to ask yourself if you could be doing something else more productive. If you can't come up with anything else you could be doing, or you are totally bored out of your mind and there is nothing else to occupy your time.. then sitting on the videogames is not a huge problem. I used to play videogames all of the time and one day it clicked "What am I going to gain from this when I reach level 60 or whatever"... not a damn thing man. That's all when I stopped playing the videogames and started reading the books. I gain much more from the books than I ever have would playing the videogames. So I kind of think it is a waste of time... you could always be doing something better with your life in a sense... all a matter of if you can come to realize it.

Bro, I've played video games my entire life too. I'm pretty much the same age as you. I play everyday, but I have friends and I go out a lot. Video games are fun. It's a hobby, it's an art. Why the **** would you be wasting your life if you're doing something fun? It's like reading a book or watching a movie. There's plenty of people with mics and guilds and communities, it's very social. There's no problem with playing video games. The only problem is when you neglect your health. So no, you didn't waste your time playing video games your whole life. Though, you should really experience other aspects in life, man. Getting a girl, having sex, doing some stupid **** with your friends, playing a sport, I don't know. Life is all about experiences. Video games is not life, even if I play everyday. You should really see Sequoia Park. It's much better than those video game graphics.

I was playing WoW and I had a herbalist alchemist level 40 rogue, but I decided to make more money by switching to mining skining, but now i think I have wasted my life because I was already level 260 herbalism and now only level 100 at mining. anyways my cats still love me (I have 4) and I have the savoury deviate delight recipe from the barrens
so no I don't think it is a waste of time no matter what my ex gf says

Good question. I love video games, but as I approach 40 years old....yes, I regret having played for so long from time to time. Still, I'm not going to give them up altogether.

If games are played as a form of relaxation, and played in moderation, I think they are good, but if they consume your life and you can't do anything else, then you are wasting you life.
