Mainly my youngest son. First thing he does is open the fridge looking for left overs. He swears there the "BOMB".

I am Italian-American, food is a very important part of our lives. I love cooking and it is a way to not only give health and nutrition but also a way to show love. My children have "inherited" that passion for food and enjoy cooking themselves.....yes, even my son!

However, they come home regularly to get Mom's home cooking. When I know they're coming I'll always ask for what they "have a taste for".......it's so much fun!

And I love to hear them share their memories surrounding certain foods. I was just being Mom, I didn't realize how I had impressed them!

My two sons are living across the country and these days I don't get to see them as often as I once did. But yes, they love Mom's cooking! I've always cooked from scratch and so they enjoy a nice home cooked meal. I am packaging some raisin cakes, brownies, and relishes to send along to them on Monday. The nicest compliment I received recently from my younger son was through an email when he said that he has always appreciated the effort I put into cooking and preparing a nice meal. To me that made it all worthwhile to know they enjoy and appreciate!

My two older kids live halfway across the country from us. We're in Texas, our older daughter in Maryland and son in Minnesota. So, I can't feed them too often cause each one only visits a couple times a year.

She's a fabulous cook, but when she comes to visit twice a year, she wants Mama's cooking! She always has requests for certain things she grew up eating. My son could live on pizza and burgers but he sure can pack away a home cooked meal when he visits and I stick one in front of him!

No longer. This mum loves home cooked meals at their homes, they all try to outdo each other, love it, they are so competitive.
One daughter-in-law is a vegetarian and what she comes up with is off the books. Her husband, my son always fixes himself MEAT no matter what, but he eats everything else she cooks.

My daughter does, but I think that's because we're both British. Although she was born abroad, she likes a shepherd's pie or a nice hot pudding now and again. I confess, I only make English specialities when she's coming to dinner. I normally cook Chinese or Indian style.
My Turkish step-son loves shortbread, but he only gets that at Christmas time.

The one who appreciates my cooking the most is my son-in-law. I guess my kids just are used to it. I actually have my own mom plus a few kids and grandkids over for dinner a couple of times a week. It's obvious I didn't inherit my mom's cooking skills-she doesn't have any!!

Yes .
They say it's tastier because the special ingredient " cooked with love" gives an extra flavour.
Sometimes in a hurry I forget to add something and even then they've said it's tasty because they love me .

Believe me I'm not joking !

Yep. They're all coming today. There is a special challenge as most of them are vegetarians....with 3 meat eaters.....

It all works though...everyone loves homemade Apple Crisp and all the special dips and munchies....and the "legal" Pasta Fagioli soup and Spicy Rice.....

Lots of different cheeses with wonderful fresh baked baquette breads and crackers....good wine, good vodka.. Homemade Christmas cookies and Mom's special Fudge....YUMMM.

What more could anyone want???
