I have a micowave/convection oven, and the inside is made of stainless steel. No matter how careful I am to cover anything I cook, I still have brown stains, especially in the back near the fan. Does anyone have a foolpoof method to remove these stains?

Yes...there are several stainless steel cleansers available...

I use Lagostina powder cleanser...you mix it with a little water to make a paste...rub the paste on the stains with a sponge working the paste into the stain(don't use any abrasive scrubber or brillo pads)and then wipe off and rinse...works extremely well.

A few suggestions: Bleach solution and leave it for a while, wash thoroughly. A couple of Sterident tablets in warm water and leave in the teapot over night. There's some great cleaning stuff called Kitchen Power - it's completely natural but it's brilliant for cleaning stainless steel. It's a bit expensive at around £3 but it's worth investing in. Good luck!

I make no guarantees on this for cooked on food.

When I was 19 I worked in a coffee shop that had stainless steel every where. We were required to clean it twice daily with ammonia. It came out beautiful.

Give it a try, but be careful it will asphyxiate you in close quarters.
