As the router stores only the network id of a network, what is procedure that the requested page reaches the correct MAC address or ip address?

Basically all of this is stored in the routers "lookup table" which compares MAC and IP and simply routes traffic back to the original source.based upon that table. (That's about a simple as it can be explained in the space here.) On occasion these tables get confused and force a reboot or other method to "clear" that table.
