stand for?
I will be honest I am not the biggest Ron Paul fan, I think some of his ideas are a bit radical, plus I am NOT conservative, but I do study politics and history.....Ron Paul definitely stands for everything a "traditional" conservative stands for, even a classical liberal! (Yes there are idealist constitutionalist non-"commy" Liberals!)
Why are so many conservatives against him, almost threatened by him? At a time where Republican leadership is at a decline in this country, why don't conservatives stand behind this man instead of trying to find "Bush's replacement"
Fox News and many conservative news outlets bash Ron Paul contiually....he probably has more liberal supporters, yet to me, he seems like the ideal conservative candidate?

Conservatives adore uniformity and lack of change from uniformity. In short Rons a boat rocker and if you learned anything from the Kerry Campaign Rep.s' hate any thing to do with boats that is not fishing.
He has some good honest ideas but most of them have not been around for 400 years or so, so he is a radical even if he is a conservative and thank makes him scary.

His foreign policy plan is a mess. Well, I should say his lack of foreign policy since withdrawing from everywhere is more of a lack of something that an actionable something.
His fiscal policy is a mess. Going back to a metal standard. OK, so how much is that going to devalue the US Dollar and what will that mean in things like fuel prices and other goods? You can't just say that the US Dollar is now worth X amount. If you are going to a metal standard, you have to assess how much metals are in reserves and compare that to the amount of dollars that are out there. Then you have to get those dollars out of circulation, which takes time. While that is going on, each dollar is worth only a fraction of its value. I am just throwing a number out there, but say there is currently 5 times the amount of currency out there as there is what the world market bares for gold and silver in federal reserves, because the world gets to decide how much gold and silver is worth, not Ron Paul, then that is the factor that prices go up on anything imported. How's $15/gallon gas sound? And that's just one example of what going to a metal standard would do.
That's just a few things about HIM that I don't like.
His supporters, on the other hand, they give me TONS to not like about him via them. I thank GOD that there was no real Internet back in 1992 or I would have been a Ross Perot kook doing exactly what the Ron Paul drones are doing. That whole 1992 election is an embarassment to look back on without piling something like the Ron Paul drones are doing this election cycle. What the hell was I thinking?
Don't worry, in 10 years you will ask yourself the same question. You just need to grow up a little bit. I know that's what I needed.

Because the Republican Party and the Name Conservative has been hijacked by Big Government Liberals who vote conservative on one or two social issues. They are called Neo-Cons, it is an ugly word and does them justice.
I like Dennis Kucinich, he is a liberal I can respect.
Go Go girls is confused, most of the Repunlicans will be inactive when it comes to securing our borders also. Wait and see.

Enter what a conservative believes in this calculator, you will not get Ron Paul I gurantee. Either you dont know what a conservative is, or you dont know Ron Paul well enough.
One thing about Paul though is that he has a tendency to dodge the media. So therefore how can places like Fox speak highly of him when people like he and democrats reject them as a news outlet to begin with.

Reagan changed the definition of "Conservative". Now, what we define as a Conservative is really a "Reactionary". A reactionary is someone who wants to return the state of things to that of some time in the past that appeals to them. In Reagan's case, he wanted to return America back to the 1930s.

thats because ron paul is being a republican the way republicans used to be. The others are more like corporatists, neocons, and right wing moralist american taliban types. The culture of hatred that has been a trademark of GOP is now causing them to feed on each other. I heard recently huckabee and someone else was accusing romney of being an elitist....lol
anyway it dont matter...all republicans should rejected summarily.

Then you don't know what a traditional conservative is. We disagree on Foreign policy. Actually conservatives are coming together. Not as much as the liberals are with their socialist agenda and willingness to give our country away to illegals and terrorist.

because of the fact if he wins and turns into president it is going to end the media/feds gravy prepare of steeling from us and policing the international/US electorate. so,Fox(the media) would not disclose him as much as they do the different puppets that are working for president.
