the opposite of hen pecked husband is a "overbearing" husband -- one who does not allow his wife to live her life to the fullest == petticoat govt -- a govt that forces the individual to care for himself and family with out depending on them for everything!!! for most of the folks it would be called a "smart" govt since the welfare state might be less!!!

i don't know what petitcoat gov't means
but i'll try to answer hen-pecked husband...that would be one where the hubby is nagged at all the time..so the opposite would have to be one where he's...listened to all the time?..hmm..so respected husband? no that might be too broad.. lets see nurtured husband..that's closer, as she would be more giving and understanding, than nagging and upsetting.
