To start there are currently over a million different species alone that have been recorded. However due to the fact that they are constantly finding new species (and I really mean constantly) they guess the total number to be more around 30 million.
Condisering we cannot sit there and count them all... based off of species info and field work the science world puts the total number of insects on earth at around 10 quintillion (yes that is a real number).
