shimla airport, about 23km south at jubbarhatt,is served by small aircraft, hence there's a luggage limit of 1okg.indian airlines flies daily from delhi to shimla (us$110).,continuing on to kulu/manali airport at bhuntar(us$65).the plane returns to shimla and then back delhi.
jagson airlines flies the same routes(us$120 to shimla, us$ 80 kulu)on monday,wednesday and friday.
airline bookings can be made with travel agencies on the mall-span tours( ph 2260850,fax 2201300 )is reliable. there is no sutitable bus to the airport, so you'll have to take a taxi for Rs.410

Shimla Airport is at Jubbarhatti, 23 kms from city and is connected to Chandigarh, Kullu, Delhi. It has daily flights from Delhi and Kullu. On Tuesday and Thursday Jagson Airlines flies Delhi-Shimla-Kullu-Gaggal and return. Archana and KCV fly between Delhi and Shimla on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
