Please state whether you are referring to their values or how they vote.

Please also state whether you have personal experience.

For my part, I spent 2 years in classes at my local synagogue, despite being a garden variety Protestant.

This is one that I really can't figure out. It would be nice if we could actually get answers from members of Jewish families.

Rick:

You must be a liberal. Only a liberal would be dumb enough to see that I had taken classes at a synagogue and then imply that I'm an anti-Semite.

Have you had a labotomy?

Eric so far is closest to my opinion. Our local rabbi's favoriet saying is, "3 Jews, 5 opinions."

When I went to Israel, they did everything to me at the airport but a strip search. Yes, I'd agree they are cautious.

(I also had a personal escort of a very cute young lady all the way to the gate. That took the sting out of it.)

There are around 14 million Jews in the world...around 5 million in the US, about 5.25 million in Israel, and the rest dispersed aroubnd the world: there are about 110,000 in my country, which has 21 million people in total. I am one of the 110,000. I am not a conservative person. I did not vote for the conservative federal government recently voted out of office.

I think there can be confusion about conservative Jewry in the divisions: Orthodadox, Ultra-Orthodox, Conservative (which does not mean the same thing as politically conservative), Reform (or as called here, Liberal...which is also ironically the name of a conservative political party!

There is a huge diversity of sects within mainsteam Judaism...I myself went to the largest Jewish day school in the southern hemisphere for 3 years between 11 and 13 years of age. I met all sorts amongst the several thousand students, teachers and clerics. As with all people, some good, some bad, some very 'small l' liberal...some very strictly orthodox or fundamental. I am a secular Jew...in that it is my ethnicity but I am not particularly religiously observant.

The line we always heard was similar to yours: put two Jews in a room and you get three political parties. It is about diversity within Judaism and the thirst for knowledge.

American Jews tend to be less conservative politically and very much assimilated. Most are here, too. But in the very religious communities within the Jewish Diaspoar, there is a tendency to dwell within and amongst their own...that's conservative certainly but also understandable. Israel is different: yes, because of the situation they are very security conscious. It is a tiny country...and if you cannot understand what it is like to be in a city being fired upon by short rabge rockets from another country during war, then you are immensely lucky. They are security conscious now moreso than ever as tel Aviv became a real target back in 1991 during the first Gulf War. Something that does not happen say, to washington or San Fracisco...or Poughkeepsie, New York But they can also be blunt, egregious, loud, fun, outgoing, and very un-conservative. And most Israelis I have known love to travel...to meet other peoples, because, unlif\ke their brethren spread throughout theworld so thinly...they have grown up amongst a Jewish majority, and they want to meet and mingle with non-Jews and see the world!

But any minority can be perceived as conservative...and face it, we are minorities wherevere we are, except in one country. And there are enough other peoples and countries which would deny that...I am not getting into a deep political discussion here, but when people wanna blow you off the face of the earth, you can get cautious. It almost worked before...our numbers should be around 22-25 million if not for a series of unfortunate events, camps and complexes 66 odd years back. Of couse, we are also minorities within other minorities, but so are so many other people in the world

So sorry, I cannot say that this is a True or false question, because it is not that simple

I am assuming you mean politically and I am assuming you are referring to countries with Western style democracies.

The answer is FALSE

In the US and Canada, for examples, Jews have consistently voted for the left of centre parties, Democrats and Liberals. In the US' case, the percentages have been as high as 75-80%. The only other specific group to vote for Democrats in even higher numbers are African Americans.

False.

Jews are people, just like blacks, whites, Hispanics, whatever. We vote how we want to vote. Some are conservative, some are liberal. Some are very conservative, some are very liberal. Many are moderate, little bit conservative, little bit liberal. I am conservative, and am not the only conservative Jew on the face of the planet, nor is my liberal Jewish friend the only liberal Jew on the face of the planet.

fantasy: all the old segregationist senators left the Democratic social gathering and develop into Republicans after 1964. No, only 1 did: Strom Thurmond. the rest remained interior the Democratic social gathering — inclusive of former Klansman Robert Byrd, who became president professional tempore of the Senate. If the recent southern Republican voters have been white racists, one would have envisioned Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia to be the 1st to instruct. different than the turn in direction of the GOP began in Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and Florida.

Jews are about as devout as Christians. That means that they aren't very devout in general. There are many Jewish porno stars, many involved in the sales of blood diamonds, many who like to get drunk, many who get divorces and sleep around, many who see violence as a solution, etc etc. Christians are just the same. In fact the whole world is full of hypocrisy.

Just think of the world as corrupt.

True Jews that go to synagogue are conservative.

People with a vague claim to Judaism based on inheritance; not so much.
