The president of the Philippines, Joseph Estrada, was arrested for corruption during his term in 2001. He was just pardoned by current president Gloria Magapagal (Arroyo Magapagal) as a Christmas present.

He was arrested for corruption, but he's a lightweight compared to the guys like Hugo Chavez who seek to bring under state control as many industries as possible, including the media and the cash cows, like their oil companies.
