Atom Egoyan`s `The Sweet Hereafter` features a nude scene in which the emaciated female looked like an exhibit from Auschwitz.

The image sustained and then I forgot about it. That is- until I saw the images from Alfred Hitchcock`s prelude to `Frenzy`- `Kaleidoscope Frenzy` where the nude near the waterfall is an absolute precursor to Egoyan.

So how does Egoyan stack up next to Hitchcock???

I'm not sure that I understand your question. I'm not sure that anyone matches Alfred Hitchcock though some homages have captured much of his style.

But, Atom Egoyan at Hitchcock's level...? Not for me he isn't. I just reviewed his filmography, and that didn't change my mind in the least, perhaps even dropping him a notch or two.

Not even close. Like a fourth grader taking on a Math Professor in a Calculus contest.
