I was in the same boat...actually...I'm still on here....All i can suggest is try to experience as much as you can...Join an Temp agency where they send you out to do different temp jobs...That's the best experience ever.....because you learn totally new skills that a tafe or uni education could never teach you.....

Just remember, your not alone....Don't be scared to try new things...even if you don't like them at first...

First, don't let yourself get into the depressed because of no work cycle, that'll really screw you up.
Secondly, your only 18, I'm *ahem* a little older than that and I still haven't a bloody clue what I want to do. I make enough to pay the bills, put food on the table and save a little but deep down this isn't really what I want to be doing.
So a suggested plan of action, Have something to aim for. new car? house deposit? pilots licence? round the world travel? what do you really fancy having?
Remember, work is the means to an end. The reason for work is to earn money, not many do it for fun.
As for finding work, let everyone you know you are looking, and don't be too fussy.
It always seems easier to find work when your in work for some reason so start scanning to local papers, the local job centre, even the blunt approach of directly asking local firms etc if they have anything going. If you end up with a few part time jobs on the go, so be it. At least your earning and gaining work environment experience to boot.
It's only a dead end job if you let it become one.

Good luck and personally I'd save a bit then start my way working round the world for a while. Get hold of "Work your way around the world" by Susan Griffith. Your local library won't stock it because it gets stolen so much (a good sign)

it is your existence and your decision. yet if you consider which you submit right here, you're able to anticipate evaluations when you consider that nicely, why else would you submit. it extremely is a scientific actuality that the human strategies isn't completely developed interior the component of reasoning and judgement on the age of 17. That mixed with the lack of existence adventure (does not remember what you have executed, it extremely is sheer dwelling that supply your adventure) each in particular circumstances finally leads to undesirable possibilities at that age of 17. i'm not announcing you identifying to have a relatives is a foul decision even though it incredibly is a decision that became into made without all information. you're able to be a mature 17 yet you're nevertheless 17, nevertheless lacking in progression and adventure. i extremely wish you reside up on your expectation of your self and which you're a impressive mom. however the possibilities you're making on your submit mixed with your motives for wanting to be a mom mirror some poor thinking. in case you think of being good finding and funky are substantial to being a discern then you definately are lifeless incorrect. in case you think of any toddler would 'desire' a youthful mom, lower back, lifeless incorrect. A mom is a mom, no remember how old. as far as being 'relaxing' and having potential - nicely, time will tell how lots you have got. it extremely is awesome which you're working and earning a salary yet what occurs once you're able to have the toddler? What approximately childcare? training? nutrition? holiday journeys? exposure on your infants to cultural activities? value of elevating a toddler isn't purely some jars of toddler nutrition. i'd be interested in understanding your strategies a million 12 months from now on your submit right here.

I can offer three pieces of advice.

1) Food-service work sucks! i.e. restaurants

2) Try to go to college. Talk to one of their advisers about taking your "general requirements" (i.e. the basics, such as English 101/102, the required humanities courses, etc.).
If you have an interest in math, become an engineer; good money!

3) If you want to poor for the rest of your life, do not go to college.

Look at some job pages on the internet for general jobs, and other types of job. Read the information and imagine doing these things, feel what you feel , see what you may see, hear what you hear. see how it feels, could you feel yourself doing this and sticking with it? if not move to something new and try that out. Think of it as trying a job out before you buy it!

choose something you will be happy in and if you can't find that then choose something relatively well paid. remember if you are 18 you can make as many career changes as you want, you are young and there is a lot to choose from to find your niche in life, its when you get to fiftyish that things become a little delicate. just because you're young dont put up with any crap, stand up for yourself and don't get too stressed out, it ain't worth it.
