i liked oblivion and would never have considered AC, until the Penny Arcade guys complained that the revues were too low.

oblivion is like taking a vacation without having to pack. it gives you a lot of choices to play, so re-play is still fun, and at least a half dozen ways to get there.

I will get AC someday... hope its fun.

I've had Oblivion for a while now

Graphics are amazing
Such a large world to explore
It's been an adventure since I first made the character
You will get slightly addicted to it haha
The urge to complete the quests, get high powered weapons and armor, and depending on what you like, guild quests will get to you =P
To this day, I still haven't beaten it, and it's been 2 years haha. That's how much there is to do in Oblivion.

However, with AC, ( i haven't played it yet) it seems like it's different than most games, how you can blend in with your surroundings and scale buildinds based on how they are laid out. I've seen videos and the game world is immense too, but Oblivion is bigger.

I'd say...

rent them and see how it is....

or

buy both used?

I can't really say which one to get because I haven't played AC to compare to Oblivion. Oblivion is worth it thoughh =]

Oblivion has 100+ hours of content, I'd suggest getting the Game of the Year edition

Assassin's Creed is a bit redundant, but fun
