Is it a sin to live as an illegal immigrant? My answer below.
I guess that depends if you worship the government and all of it's laws. If the government were God then yes, but it is hardly a sin to oppose stupid laws if they aren't opposing God's laws.
Sometimes, governments have laws that are considered to be sin, like murdering millions because they .....?(not sure why actually), I just know that a soldier is disobeying the law if they decide not to kill when at war.

Well , I haven't a clue. Government is government and G-d is G-d, two separate entities. Though in the U.S. with the foundation of Christian Conservative, Republicans and G-d I guess are closely becoming one in the same. Which I think is totally bogus. The only Theocratic government I will ever accept is G-d himself. Not men creating laws based on THEIR interpretation of what G-d wants.
So the flak may of come from the Christian Conservatives I'd wager.

Well, in the bible it says to obey the laws of the land. Therefore, disobeying that law would be a sin. The bible also says you are judged by what you know, so if you don't know it's a sin you are not guilty of committing the sin. However, some laws make no sense or are completely silly. Like you said, if a soldier refuses to kill the enemy in a war....is he committing a sin? Personally I don't think so.

I don't think it's a sin t live anywhere illegally...it is illegal though.

I don't know why people would lash out at you for that answer. I would have to say I completely agree with you.

Not all things that break the law are a sin, speeding in my car is breaking the law but it's not a sin. Now murder is both illegal and a sin. Now I do believe that God wants us to obey the laws of man generally speaking but I feel confident that illegals aren't going to be condemned by God for trying to improve their lot in life by moving to a new country illegally.

I haven't read your previous question first of all. Second, it is not a "sin" to CHOOSE to be an illegal immigrant. It is, against the law, period, dot. It is ILLEGAL, your first act in a new country is to break the law??? How upstanding are a person are you to do this??? The immigration process is set up to filter "undesirables," that is those who have criminal records, amongst many criteria, starting anew in the US. Third, why does an illegal think they can circumvent all those waiting in line, like cutting to the front of any line, and demand to be treated equally? I guess they are too good, to wait in line with the rest of their fellow country men and women. Or maybe, their might be something that would stop them from being approved, hmmmm. Third, illegals don't pay taxes, but they use the roads, and other things the rest have to pick up the slack for, by increased taxes in their paychecks. Not paying taxes, let me see, if I didn't do this, they call it "tax evasion," a crime, and I would end up in jail. Yeah, I would love to keep my whole paycheck to myself too.

Because the question itself lends itself to an emotional response. It's attempting to answer a legal question based on a religious belief. What is legally right or wrong is not the same as what one considers right or wrong on a religious basis. We all have different religious beliefs but the law applies to all people. The law applies to all of us at all times. Our religious beliefs dictate how we all choose to behave within the legal structure we have created.

I don't see why it would be called a sin. It's against the law, but that's definitely not the same thing.

Would you rather the US had the same policies on illegals that Mexico has?
