write a book about the Oj simpson trial. and include some or most of the trial transcript in it, its open to the public the trial transcript. but is it illegal to put it in a book

What it would be though, is incredibly boring. Have you ever actually read through a transcript?

Freedom of speech (writing is included in that category). Yes, it's legal, you will just probably get criticized by some people, but that's the life of a writer.
