You can't eat anything to make your period come. (Some people might tell you herbs like ginger but those don't usually work and can even be dangerous.)

Pregnancy is the most obvious possible reason for her late period, or it could just be a normal irregularity because most women do not have clockwork cycles. If she has changed her diet or exercise habits significantly or been any unusual stress then those are also factors to consider.

If you say last cycle was 36 days, that is longer than average, and if this cycle is 38-40 days (1 month and 10 days) then it's probably nothing to worry about if longer cycles are normal for her.

She needs to take a pregnancy test. If she isn't pregnant, then it just means that her cycle is changing. I used to have perfect 28 day cycles, but at some point I started having 6-8 week cycles. If she wants predictable periods she can start taking birth control pills.

Maybe she is pregnant?
What must she eat?! Food will not make her period come.
Irregular periods are normal for some women.
