None. Anyone who is willing to give anything including their life for their country is a patriot. It does not take a religion to put that in ones heart. I was raised baptist. I've been an Agnostic and now a Jew. But it has always been in my heart that our FOREFATHERS wrote a most perfect document that should be protected from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Harald: I want you to look up the word "fascist" in a dictionary. Using the word fascist next to sharia law makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE! Sharia law is not a race or a nationality it is a religious law. So actually Theocratic would be a more proper word but that can describe Christian Conservatives as well. Open mouth, insert foot, and learn the meaning of words.

Looking into it further, would a muslim rather fight for the USA which opened it's doors to the muslem and muslem's kin, or his/her country of origin? Would an IIlegal immigrant rather fight for mexico or the USA? Would someone take the benefit of a country that has gave him opportunities, then turn their back and fight against it when the lines are drawn? That's a good question. I think it's pretty naive to think that religion would not effect a person's view on patriotism. Is someone who won't take up arms to defend their country due to religious beliefs a true patriot? Or is true patriotism standing next to your neighbor and putting the best interests of many before one?

To be a true American patriot, all one has to do is believe in the tenets of our Constitution and to love America. That is enough, there is no religious belief required. People of all faiths and no faith can be patriots.

It is possible to be a Muslim and a patriot of America, but unlikely. As I hope you realize, some Muslims love their own freedom granted to them by America, but don't like it when another American is Jewish, or Christian.
We're the Infidels, and must be killed, remember? This is the aim of the Muslim religion!

Religion has no tie to patriotism period. Who put that silly idea in your head? Was it Bush, when he said atheist were not patriots or citizens because this is a nation founded on God and since we don't believe in God we can't be part of the nation?
Yes, he really said that. Google it.
I have no believe in God, yet I promise you that I am just as patriotic as every other American out their! I love this country!
EELFINS, you are an idiot! You say. "the atheists trying to unconstitutionally ban religion from society should either change the constitution or move to communist China." Atheist are not trying to ban religion from society, only government where it doesn't belong. This is called the separation of church and state. You see, the constitution also promises freedom from religion and you need to realize that this protects your religious beliefs as much as it does my atheist beliefs. You are the one that needs to spend some time in another country, where government and religion are intertwined and maybe you would see the importance of this. Try one of the many Muslim countries where sharia law is practiced. Maybe you will get lucky, like the teacher who only got a slap on the wrist for her heresy! Many people get much worse!

Religion is irrelevant to patriotism. As long as someone is committed to liberty, justice, and loyalty to this nation, they are a patriot. No matter what their spiritual beliefs may be.
And yes, a Muslim is perfectly capable of being patriotic, as long as they believe in the things I described above.

"True American Patriots" are those folks that believe in the Natural Rights foundations of the Constitution.
As long as you respect it's ideal of limited & secular government, it doesn't matter what religion you are.

The constitution guarantees the freedom to practice your own religion. I would say any and all of those who practice their own religion are true patriots and the atheists trying to unconstitutionally ban religion from society should either change the constitution or move to a communist country.

Whatever religion they damned well please to be, and for that matter whatever political affiliation they happen to be. Questioning the patriotism of others is often a sign of one who doesn't understand some essential aspects of what makes this country so great.
