I know the dangers of teflon for human health. So I am wondering if anyone can recommend an alternative option for saucepan?

If you get Teflon hot enough to be a danger you should not be cooking. Teflon is even used to make replacement hip and knee joints. It is only at very high temps that it decomposed into anything harmfull.
But Stainless steel with a heavy bottom. The ones with Aluminum clad bottoms are good. The Al. does not touch the food. And Al. has not been shown to cause Alzheimer's. But Al. can react with acids and sulpher in food to make it taste funny.
We have Kitchen Aide brand are very happy with it.

Olive oil,or any type in a cast iron skillet. By the way, buy a scrubby pad, cause the burnt on stuff, you are going to have use elbow grease. If not, buy Teflon, just buy a quality pan with a very thick coating (you get what you pay for; or don't pay for). Your call , your money.

Stainless Steel 10/18, or glazed steel. But do not use Aluminum pots, they cause Alzheimer's.
