not really, it wouldn't even cross my mind, especially since i didn't invite them. i guess i have no manners and i'm a terrible host.

There is always something, I have mint growing in the yard for tea if nothing else. My cupboards are never bare. Jeeze, even in my car, I could come up with something, A pack of ketchup or hot sauce or SOMETHING

Even though it isn't wrong to not have something if they dropped by unannounced and even though I wouldn't expect something of someone that I was visiting, I would still feel bad.

No I would not. I do not expect anything when I visit and do not see why someone would upon visiting me, unless I invited them for dinner- then yes it would be awkward.
