I get migraines a lot and have found that either massaging or magnets on both of the temples work. Take two magnets and place one on each temple. Start moving them in a circular motion for as long as it takes. Also I have found that Tylenol Allergy Sinus works the best on migraines. I don't know why but they help me better than anything. Also Excedrin Migraine or Excedrin Tension Headache works pretty good too. I can tell when I'm starting to get a migraine and I take a couple before it gets too bad! Hope this helps! Good Luck.

Usually sleeping does the trick..
and eating a fruit like an apple or something?
that helped an old friend of mine when she had a migraine.

over the counter (OTC)drugs a not advisable because of side effects and may worsen your migraine. rest at-least 8hours at night, stress management and exercise may help.
brain releases endorphins that lessen the pain that is why every person has different reaction on pain. increase endorphins-less pain, low endorphins more pain. exercise is the best way to increase your endorphins

A woman that I know had migraines all the time, I always gave her a massage to ease the pressure, but one of her doctors gave her medicine and told her to take it every time she had a migraine...well it got the the point where she would take an enormous amount of pills every day so she told her doctor about it, and he said that for a few days she needed to just DEAL. Everytime she had a migraine she needed to just let it pass, she did it for like a week or something (which she said was like the worst week of her life because it was so painful and all she did was cry), but her body adapted to it, and now she hardly ever gets them anymore. Maybe you should try it.

There is no best cure. It is whatever migraine med you get from the doc that works the best. If you have them often consider asking your neurologist about trying some preventative medication.

There are lots of pills out there to help with the effects of a migraine. some to prevent them and some to treat them.

If you want to try a natural root there are some things that you can do.

A friend of mine has a child that has migraines and because of the side effects the doc's in this country will not treat them.
She has found the Aroma therapy oils helps

The essential oil of lavender will help.
She has told me that at first the pain will get worse but it will go away. Without side effects

Jasmine will help relax you.
(it is on the expensive side)
it also helps with muscle pain.

If you use essential oils you should not use them full strength as some of them can cause skin irritation. Mix them in a carrier oil such as sweet almond or veggie oil.
Make sure that the oils you get are 100% pure
some of the ones on the market are mixed with other oils before they are sold.

you can also put the oils in a infuser to depuse the sent into the room.

I do have reciepes for herble rememdies to treat them email me if you would like the info.

Acupuncture, which involves inserting thin needles into various points on your body, may reduce peripheral neuropathy symptoms.

You might have migraine for a couple of reasons (and each has a different cure):
Reaction to food (not exactly the allergy, but how your body processes a certain types of food and how it affects your hormonal balance):
1. Avoid coffee, tea and energy drinks
2. Avoid sweets
3. Cut on your sugar/corn syrup intake – use honey instead
4. Cut on fat
5. Avoid chocolate

Not enough oxygen:
1) Walk in the park (or city streets) for at least 30 minuets every day (1 hour is ideal)
2) Air your home at least once a day
3) Sleep with your windows open (at least slightly open, if you need to use air cond. Or heater)

Stress related
1) Stop watching TV (spend at least 1 month TV free), if you can not see yourself without it, at least stop machining it before 9 pm – watch only light programs: no news, no action movies, no horror movies. You know that what you just watched is not real, you subconscious does not.
2) Allow yourself at least 7 hours of sleep (8-9 is better)
3) Spend 15 minutes per day bathing in the sunlight (do not use sun block)
4) Make love on a regular basis – if it is possible
5) Drink chamomile or valerian root tea before going to bed

Spasm:
Aromatherapy – use for 3 weeks 2-a-day, than as needed (immediately after you start feeling that “it is coming” ):
Combine:
For “no reason” migraine: 3 drop lavender and 1 drop peppermint oils – this will last you fro a couple applications - apply around your hair
For “because I am stressed” migraine: 3 drops of lavender and 1 drop chamomile - apply around your hair.

Be careful when buying essential oils – use only reputable source that sells therapeutic grade oils. Never buy fragrant oils – they are synthetic and will do only harm. They should not be confused with 100% Natural Essential Oils used in Aromatherapy.

Magnetic Therapy:
Wearing magnetic necklace – 2,000 Gauss strength - might help.

High blood pressure: drink ½ glass of beet juice

Therapies that might help:
1) Reiki
2) Acupuncture
3) Yoga
4) Meditation

Hope this helps.

Marina Lando, RM
