Don't know.
I have not prepared for that.
If the burglar was right behind me and I could catch it in time I suppose that sizing it up and attacking with my limited fighting skills would occur to me before grabbing object and hitting would.
In any event I would have the reach advantage with a gun if I could train the weapon on it first.

I like all the 44 answers which I would use any means until he or I was dead to protect my castle and family from a ruthless burglar and you deserve a star since it gave me some super ideas to use.

Why hit him I have one of my throwing knifes right by me. Plus if a burglar is able to get that close to me with out me knowing, I first may clap my hand to congratulate them for their effort then just start counting down from ten and see how far they can run. I prefer free range hunting.

I'd kick him in the shin, then punch him in the face. Then kick him in the "you know where" then grab the first hard object I could find and smash his head in with it. Once he's passed out, I'll tie him up and wait for the Police to arrive and yell, "Rape! Rape!" as I run out the door to alert neighbors.

well i've got a comb that it point where you hold it, to split the hair so i'd grab the teeth of the comb and jab the pointed part in his eye or his throat or something, lol
