i'm 15 (16 in april) and my boyfriend is 18 (as of november), so there's almost a 2.5 year difference. things are great,
but i've been warned about statutory rape
i live in Massachusetts- what's the law(s) exactly? i looked it up and got "criminal inducement to get a person under 18 of chaste life to have unlawful sexual intercourse"- what the hell's that mean? is this something i should actually be worried about? more for his sake than mine. i've heard that charges can be pressed for anything sexual, not just intercourse ... fill me in please?

i don't need ******* moral lessons. if you think that 15 is too young to have sex, that's fine, it's your opinion. but there is no reason why you should share it with me, since it does not answer my question or help me in any way. you don't know me or my situation, so keep your judgmental sermons to yourself.
and age is just a number. the law might not recognize that, but my boyfriend and i do.
our relationship is what it is. i don't want your opinion on whether or not we should date because you can't change that.
and ps... we aren't having sex

YES!! (easy enough answer for you)
The law means, if he touches you - including a kiss - he can go to jail!
Rapists do not do well in jail - so if you like this guy - break it off with him, until you turn 18!

well i dont know the laws over there but 15 and 18 is not that big of a difference or deal, it kindof depends on the people u surround yourself with do your parents care do his if you dont think anyone around you would report it then i wouldnt end your relationship, but try to avoid confiding in any school councilors no matter how trust worthy they seem, those shcysty bastards will report you faster than you can say "jailtime" and your bf will be screwed for life (literally) if he does get reported he could be thrown in jail and once he gets out he will have to register as a sex ofender for the rest of his life, semms kind of unreasonable for a 2 year difference, but thats the law where i live. im not sure what the charges r for sexual involvement besides intercourse but it definately doesnt go with out punishment, something to think about for his sake, but 18 is NOT that old id be worried if he was like 23 or something, and its not like a cop is gonna come up to u guys in public when your holding hands and ask to see your IDs, i wouldnt sweat it to much just stay cautious

I am not an lawyer I just looked it up for you. Massachusetts law states that 16 is the age to consent to sex you will find the web site below. So you both need to back off until you are 16 or your boyfriend will be spend a little time in jail no less then 3 years

It is illegal for him to have sex with you until you're 18.
MA has a weird age of consent rule.
If he has sex with you when you're 16 or 17 it's a crime, but then the NEXT guy you have sex with is NOT committing a crime, because under MA law it's only illegal to have sex with a 16 or 17 yr old who was "of a chaste life" - ie who was a virgin.
While you're 15, though, it's not just a crime, it's a FELONY - that means prison for him, and a lifetime as a registered sex offender.

Most states under 18 is statutory rape. And under 16 is most often a more serious charge of child rape. Could put him behind bars for many many years.
And what would an adult like your "boyfriend" want with a minor like yourself. Doesn't he like girls his own age, especially if he wants sex?
Don't let yourself be used. The gap between 15 and 18 is actually very large in that age range.

I would say it probably is. I live in Minnesota, and if one party is more than 24 months younger and less than age 16, yes it is rape.
Also, in MN, age 16 is consent as long as the other party is not your doctor, pastor, teacher, counselor, boss, dentist, etc... But, the laws vary greatly by state. A good person to ask is your doctor or school counselor.

I'm not going to judge your relationship, but if your boyfriend is breaking the law (which is sounds like he is), it would probably take your parents to bring this to the attention of any authorities.
The problem is that even if your parents are "cool" with him now, you two may break up and that's when your parents (or you) could report him.
p.s. In most states, an adult who engages in sexual conduct with a 15 year old is aggravated sexual assault, which is obviously not good. If you really like this guy, you gotta break it off for his own good -- it's not worth the risk, and obviously he's not smart enough to realize this on his own.

"16; If a minor 16 or 17 years of age is a virgin, sex is illegal (Chapter 272: Section 4. Inducing person under 18 to have sexual intercourse)."
