Calgary is 5-0-2 in their last 7 games including a 4 game winning streak on the road (something they haven't done since the 1991-92 season) and are 7th in the conference, and only 2 points out of the division lead. I don't think there is anything wrong with the Flames.

Edmonton on the other hand is a weak team, several experts expected them to be fighting with Phoenix for the worst in the West. Many people are very surprised at how well they are doing and think they are overachieving (without the 10 shootout wins they would be dead last in the NHL). The new owner will do wonders for that franchise going forward

The Oilers need to be four years older. They are the youngest team in the league, and they have some top-tier young talent. I mean, behind Pittsburgh (Crosby, Staal, Malkin) and Chicago (Toews and Kane), the Oilers have the best young team in the league. The line of Gagne, Cogliano, and Nilsson looks like a sure thing. And the "veteran" talent on this team are Horcoff (28), Stoll (25), and Hemsky (24). This team is just young. Staios, Sandersson, Moreau, and Roloson may be playing the back nine, but everyone else on this team is pretty inexperienced. They should just get better and better.

The Flamers just need to get rid of Iron Mike. It's a roll of the dice with that guy. Sometimes teams respond to him. Other times, they don't. Calgary isn't responding.

I think the Oilers new owner can afford to throw some money at their problems. What they need to do to solve the "wife doesn't want to live in Edmonton" issue with free agents is hire a lady who does lunch to help the wives/girlfriends see the positive side of Edmonton.

both teams are young thier players are maturing rapidly. the talant is thier . both teams will improve during the season . it would cost to much future for edmonton to make a trade at this time. long way to go in the season . the teams will mature 70 games into schedule ,that is when thier run to the playoffs will start. both teams will get first round whoever gets vancouver just a light work out . the other team may have to work hard . just a matter of maturing dont give up hope
