well i think superficially we can consider that every living being has a different purpose..and our purpose of life should be to figure out that purpose..and put ourselves into the accomplishment of that purpose...
this is kind of difficult to explain..but our views on these different purposes also have various levels..we can look at something frm a superficial pt of view or we can go deep into the thought...i have not had any sort of spiritual realization so i would not be able to tell you the true purpose of life...but i believe that everything is controlled by some power(I wont use the word 'GOD' incase u or neone else might be an aethist)..and nothin would happen without the consciousness of that power or force or truth...so it is a waste of our time and energy to to fantasize about the future and it is also pointless to be buried in thoughts of the past...so all we can do is observe the present...the mind is a beautiful creation..i wish i knew how thoughts originate or begin to exist(i dont want the biological reason..as scientific reasons are also ultimately thoughts realised through all the information percieved by our senses..while reading this answer all tht u can be sure of is that ur eyes send some information to ur brain which processes it and gives u a sensation of vision..on which a thought arises and u realate that sensation to a meaning)..according to spiritual masters..it is only by the awareness of all these processes going on in our mind and on unidentifying the self with the mind can we attain realisation of the truth and the purpose of life...
well i dont know the purpose of life myself as i live mostly using the thought of superficial judgement (like most of us)..not would i dare to consider myself to be knowledgeable enough to give a definite answer to your question...but i do believe that what is(in reality)..the TRUTH(absolute)...will always remain the TRUTH...and no number of arguments or confident and vain beliefs will be able to change it from being the absolute TRUTH...so there is no point in the discussion of this etrnal question...among people like us(ie in places like this)...coz i doubt that people who hav realised the "Purpose of Life" will ever surf the net nor will they stay in society..coz once the purpose is realized i doubt we would still hav any reason for existence in this mortal life...this is probably what is known in many religions as Mokhsha/ Samadhi/ Nirvana/ Salvation......

neway..it was nice to tryto give an answer to ur question... :)

I'm not really sure what the purpose of life is, but I can tell you a lot of things that aren't the purpose of life. Perhaps by looking at those things, we may figure out what the purpose is.

The purpose of life is servitude to Allah, the Most Compassionate and Merciful, the Creator of creations. And the purpose of existence is His remembrance. A servant is only one who has the qualities of servitude otherwise his existence is a lie and has no meaning.

Food, shelter, and occupation are all necessities in life but the real purpose is the pleasure and remembrance of Allah. Unfortunately most of the time people reverse this paradigm by making this life their purpose.

The purpose of life, and that is all life not just man, is to flourish and grow, mentally, physically and, for man, spiritually as he is the only one that can consciously commune with the Universe.

I agree...fairly depressing isn't it. Edit: in simple terms attempt to be satisfied you're alive. all and sundry persons are incredibly fortunate to be alive. the possibilities of you being alive are extremely narrow. It skill, if your mum and dad hadn't surpassed off to fulfill, you does not be right here. an analogous is going on your grandparents, your large grandparents.... shop happening the line and it might detect trillions upon trillions of situations that have been a threat to us not being right here. yet all of those situations occurred from the time we've been mere fish swimming interior the sea. that's in all probability the only existence we will get. individuals don't have it exceptionally much as good as us. all and sundry people could take in all the happiness existence has to deliver and cope with one yet another peacefully, with love and admire as a results of fact we are all on an analogous boat and existence is emotional.

To get through it and enjoy the ride... to be able to adapt to whatever comes your way; to thrive more than just cope with the crap life often has in store for you. To learn as much as you can, to be the best person you can possibly be at this time, in the situation and circumstance you have found yourself. To treat others with the respect you wish to be show. To do as little harm or damage to other people, or animals as you can. You are lucky if you find love and happiness, contentment and self-acceptance.

The purpose of life is to live it.

Sometimes the simplest answers are also the most profound.

Life is a passage through to the next life. It refines our character. It gives a point of refrence. The only rule is to live it like noone else.
