my friend gave me his old yamaha 50cc scooter, unfortunately the model(name) of the scooter was scraped off on the front part of the bike, how can i determine the model of the scooter, is there some sort of tag or label hidden inside the body or embossed in the metal(body) frame for me to determine. I checked the yamaha websites and i can't get to see a similiar design compared to that of mine, i need the exact model so i can register it our licensing bereau since it doesn't a license plate yet.

There should be a VIN number plate somewhere like the steering head.

Engine number on the transmission housing either by the cylinder block or by the rear suspension mounting
Chassis number either behind the plastic cowl on the frame above the front wheel/forks.
Vin plate either on frame under rear near to where the suspension mounts or oposite side or on frame under seatbox body.
Some of the main manufacturers bikes were generics made by subsideries so you might find it is a Yamaha body with a SYM chassis and engine or a HERCHEE happy hunting

Call Yamaha, or a dealership and ask where the frame # is located on Yamaha scooters.
Then call them back with the frame # and they will tell you the year and model # of your scooter.
