In the movie im a legend his clothing dummy appears in front of that building....how did he get there??

the mutant leader put it there.

when Will Smith took the head mutant's girlfriend, it really ticked him off. so the mutant set the same kind of trap to catch Smith.

those mutants were smarter than i first thought...
