Civic Defense would have been the blackout orders, the air raid drills and so forth.

Ervin Rommel was the General in command of the Afrika Corps. He later was placed in command of the Atlantic Wall, the defensive perimeter established along the coast line of France, including the Normandy Channel coast.
George Patton was a tank commander, and like all tank commanders, also a commander of their infantry support. He was introduced to the war by Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa. He was a commander in the invasion of Sicily, and he was relieved of command after slapping, and reportedly threatening with a gun a "shell shock" victim in an Army Hospital.

The Germans were convinced he would be the overall commander of the invasion. The Allies used this to their advantage by placing him near Dover, with a bogus force called Army group 1. This coincided with German thinking since the channel is only about 20 miles across between Dover and Calais.
The Non-aggression pact, was signed by Ribbentrop and Molotov in Moscow in the summer of 1939. This guaranteed the Russians would not defend Poland when invaded.

Ira Hayes was a Pima Indian, who served with the US Marines. It is Ira's hand which is reaching but not touching the flag mast in the Joe Rosenthal picture taken at Iwo Jima that the Marine Memorial is based on.

Lend Lease was a program by which we would supply armaments to Britain without their having to pay for them "cash on the barrel" as the past program had been. FDR described it on a newsreel I saw by saying "if your neighbor's house is on fire, and he asks to borrow your garden hose, you don't stand there and dicker about how much you'll sell it to him, since the fire on his house may threaten yours".

Manhattan Project was named for the military district where the plan was conceived. It was the project that investigated whether a sustained nuclear reaction could be created, and if this might be used as a weapon, and in how to build such a weapon. This required a tremendous amount of money, time and some of the sharpest minds in our University communities.

Winston Churchill was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during most of the war.

Erwin Rommel was a German general (later field marshal). He was in charge of German troops in North Africa - the Deutsche Afrika Korps (DAK).

General George Patton was an American general who fought in North Africa, Italy and Normandy. Nicknamed "old blood and guts", he was known for boldly forging ahead (throwing caution to the wind).

Lend-Lease was a program where the U.S.A. "loaned" military equipment (tanks, airplanes, etc.) to other countries. Initially the Brittish, later expaneded to the Russians. Essentially these countries were given the equipment with an "i-owe-you", and the U.S.A. had the option of saying "keep it". This was started with the Brittish before the U.S.A. joined the war, effectively firmly declairing which side we were on.

The Mantattan Project was the code name of the secret program to build the atomic bomb. Two were built and dropped on Japan. Edward Teller and Albert Einstein were two of the scientists who participated in the project.

Winston Churchill was prime minister of England during WWII. Known for his modivational speeches, Churchill was an outspoken critic of his predicessors for the Munich accord, which gave the Sudatenland to Germany.

I'm not 100% sure what they mean by "civic defense". Civil Defense was setup to protect the U.S. from attack. Various people were assigned tasks to be on the look out for possible invasion. Plans we made for bomb shelters, etc.

I'm drawing a blank on Ira Hayes and the German non-Agression Pact. You can probably find them on Wikipedia -

Rommel (known as Desert Fox) was a German general who lead the fighting in North Africa- he was implicated in a plot to kill Hitler and took his own life. Patten was a colorful and controversial American general to fought against Rommel. He was killed in Germany after the war in an accident on the German Autobahn in 1946. Germany agreed to not attack Stalin's Russia, but broke the treaty and attacked. Lend lease was a plan to help the allies against Germany before the U.S. entered the war. Manhattan Project was a secret project to develop the atomic bomb. Churchill was England's great war-time prime minister. His mother was an American. He rallied the country at a time when morale was low due to bombing from Hitler's Germany. I'd have to look up Ira Hayes but if you google him, it should be easy. Do you mean Civil defense?

I'll give you ONE only:

German Non-Agression Pact: In 1939, Hitler wanted to make a deal with Russia to not get involved when he attacked Poland, so he and Stalin signed a NON AGRESSION PACT, each promising not to attack the other. It was a joke, with the only question being: who was going to break it first. Hitler answered that question on Sunday, June 22, 1941, when his troops attacked the Soviet Union.
