the person being charged is not guilty until proven therefore until that time they have the right to use the media in their defense to try and find witnesses etc. and they can publish facts to do this such as Jane doe is accusing me of raping her on such and such a day I was located here or there anyone who can testify to this please contact john doe at ----

So far the answers have been riveting but im going to give you a good answer. No they should not be publicized without his/her consent. A victim has already gone through enough and doesnt need anymore light shining on him/her.

No! That would just be adding to the damage. The person has already been victimized. They should not be shamed as well.

firstly i must say, anyone who would rape someone, or do anything of the sort, should be sentenced to death no if ands or buts, (my opinion) but no they shouldnt be put out there for someone elses pityful act. its not there fault, they had no choice in the matter
