Scan your computer with a good AV software, use a firewall.

http://www.avast.com
Download the free home version and choose to scan when restart

Then use Spybot
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html

Between the two, should be able to remove/clean a lot of it.

If thata the case then runn a good virus software and do regular system maintence and you will have No problems.
chances are most of your problems are caused by the habits you have while using the computer, in the sites you frequent, and how often. Keeping in mind that Music, and chat sites are more often than not the bearer of more than music and chatting.
Run up to date virus software once a week.
Run Spybot's Search and Destroy once a week.
Run Lavasofts Adaware 2007 once a week.
Run Disk Clean-up once a week.
Using tools in your Browser and then Internet Options and keep all the Cookies as well as Historie, and Online and Offline content deleted from your machine will do wonders for you. Start using good predictive mantence, and you will rarely if ever have a problem.

no don't throw it away, either bring it in to a professional and ask him about it, or get a virus scan, software. Try like trend micro, geek superhero, and also remember to get a internet security, to prevent this from happening again. You can but these software, at Wal-Mart, Circuit City, Best Buy, Micro Center, CompUSA (recommended), ink stop, or basically any place with electronics and computers

I would lilke to know the details of exactly what is happening but you could download virus protection programs for free like Avast and Avg you could also try windows live onecare also try downloading Ad-aware and spy-bot or hijackthis all are good programs. after you download them one each one, one at a time

second choice you could just wipe your hard drive and reinstall but back up all your important files and make sure you have all the CD's for your programs cause after a wipe everything is erased

Just get a good commercial antivirus program like Norton. No need for all that drastic stuff.

your PC should have come with recovery disks, or a recovery partition. In the worst case scenario, you could wipe the PC and reinstall everything, after you backup your files.

You may have a key logger program embedded. Have it checked, and get good virus and firewall installed

Yes, you have to throw it out.

And when your car runs out of gas, you have to throw that out too and buy a new one with more gas in it.
