His real name was Carl von Linne, but he called himself Carolus Linnaeus.

Adam and Eve? Taxonomy is the science of naming organisms, classifying them, and determining their evolutionary relationships. Primitive man probably did at least the first. Karl von Linne pioneered the system of binominal (not binomial) nomenclature, although he was not the first to use it.
