Because they're usually on your hands, which are very sensitive and have a lot of nerves. Any cut on the hand hurts like a mother.

I know! I believe that it's due to the nerve endings. Please do disinfect the wound with something like peroxide and apply neosporin (antibiotic ointment) with a q-tip and then apply bandage. Feel better soon!
