I hear liberals always blaming republicans of supporting corporate welfare. What about the democrats? Do they not pander to big corporate agricultural lobbyists? Not talking local farmers, but big agro companies (whom get the majority of agro subsidies). Do they not bend over backward for billionaire professional sport franchises, making the tax payers pay some of the stadium costs? Democrats also do the same for college sports teams.

Aren't the democrats just as guilty as the republicans when it comes to corporate welfare??

Both parties pander to big business. It should be completely cut out. If a business or farmer can't survive without a government handout, let them fail. No more corporate welfare.

Democrats think if a farmer is earning $750,000 a year he or she deserves a hand out. That is in the farming bill.

"Acting Secretary of Agriculture Charles Conner said Friday he was "disappointed" with the Senate outcome. "This bill has a tough road ahead of it," he said.

He singled out the Senate's rejection this week of an amendment that would have ended government subsidy payments to farmers earning more than $750,000 after expenses. The current cutoff is $2.5 million.

Conner said it made no sense to provide income support payments to the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans, using dollars derived from middle-class taxpayers. He called on Congress to "simply say no those people.""

Both parties support corporate welfare and always have. I have often wondered if our economy would prosper without government support of business and whether free markets actually work, but I doubt we will ever find out.

The rare times that corporate bailouts are used as a TEMPORARY measure, provide more jobs and stregthens the US economy. PERMANENT Personal welfare on the other hand weakens society by rewarding those not to try.

Both parties are in the pockets of big business and the elites. That is what the problem is.

Yes. This makes both parties different sides of the same coin. In essence, it is corporatism.
