If I didn't have to work, I'd end up being a hermit.
I detach myself in several ways.
1. I refuse to have a cell phone after work hours, I leave it in the car.
2. I never, ever, answer my home phone, I don't even have the ringer on, not ever. Anyone who knows me, knows that to get in touch with me you need to leave a message. (**Yes, it is bad for emergencies, however, there will and always have been emergencies, even before there were phones)
3. If I wasn't expecting company, I don't answer the door. (Unless I look out there and it's someone I'm really glad to see)
It is just all too overwhelming for me,
I get all the stimulation I need during the day at work. I need to "detach" myself to "re-energize" myself for the next day!

I don't do it on purpose, at least not from caring decent people...actually the world detaches itself from me in that Iam a single non attached person,and Iam extremely open of mind,thus the world that is otherwise --detaches itself from me.
The world that is uncaring of others I detach from
in every way possible.
