The nurse wouldn't send you home without doctors approval so they bleeding would be scary and contractions hurt but try to concentrate on you healthy baby. Its all worth the pain. Good Luck !

If this is your first baby, then you will probably take 12- 20 hours before you give birth, so calm down and don't worry.
If your water has broken, this can lead to stronger contractions. All that stuff in films about rushing to the hospital at the first sign of a contraction is silly and unnecessary, for your first you will be contracting for a long time. It will be exhausting. Try to rest in between contractions. Birth will not happen until the baby 'crowns', where his head will be visible three to four fingers wide. That's the time for possible midwife or medical help. You MUST get help to birth the baby if you are in labour more than 20 hours, or complications will start.

If you are scared and the contractions hurt go back to the hospital. They are never very good at estimating anyways. They always tried to send me home when I was in labor. Once they sent me home and told me to come back the next day. I left drove about 10 minutes, turned around because the contractions got worse and when I walked back into the hospital I had my baby 15 minutes later ;) so, if you feel like you need to go to the hospital go.

If your contractions are 5 minutes apart you should call your doctor again and go back to the hospital. You will get spotting when you start your labor, that is alright. But if you break your water the doctor will probably want you to go back to the hospital because of possible infection.

I am not a nurse, but if the nurse sent you home it must be ok. If it has gotten worse since you left the doctor I would call the ER. Goodluck!

How pregnant are you? You didn't say? If you are past 36 weeks, you will be fine.

keep your legs up
keep calm
don't freak out..

worrying and freaking out will only make matters worse..

you could be making things harder on yourself by freaking out...try real hard to think positive and healthy...take care of yourself..stay in bed.. you will get through this with no problem.

good luck

You either need to go back to the hospital for answers to what is going on or call them to find out more information so you are not streesing all night.

Not trying to scare you.....just wanting you to be informed of a POSSIBILTY for YOUR and your baby's health.......if you're having bad contractions and hemorrhaging then it could be a sign of miscarriage/infant death syndrome. i'd advise you go back to the hospital. it's not safe for you to have these symptoms and definitely not safe for baby. don't leave the hospital til lyou have a for sure answer; and, better yet, this goes away. Good luck and I'll pray for you and your little one tonight.

Call your OB/GYN and talk to him/her. You may need more medical information/advice than the nurse was able to provide you with. If this is normal/okay, then your Dr. will be able to tell you. This is way they get paid to do, right? Please call your Dr. and ask b/c we cannot give you any better medical advice then your own Dr (who knows your history and such).
Good luck!!!
