Will a 2001Yamaha R1 gas tank fit my 98 Yamaha R1?

I'm trying to look for a gas tank for one of my bikes and found a 2001 gas tank. I looks exactly the same but I will like to know if anyone know for sure if it will fit my 98 Yamaha R1

Pretty sure it wont.

They did a big frame re-design that year, so I would not bank on it.
