Hilt is the handle of a sword or knife. The metal piece usually at right angle between the blade and the hilt is the guard. Not all bladed weapons have guards.

I'm confused as to why you asked a linguistics question in the Home & Garden section. Did you mean Hilti? They make heavy duty construction tools. See third link.
