I donated plasma yesterday and the nurse there was trying to insert the needle into my tendon, because she thought it was a vein, now today my vein is swollen, sore and red =(

Any horror stories about medical professionals from Hell?

A surgeon accidentally removed my appendix when I was in 4th grade-I was supposed to have a kidney operation. 9 years ago a nurse stole my pain med (I was post op) but documented that I had received it. I had to suffer for 2 days in wicked wicked pain. She lost her license, but that just was never enough, it didn't make up for what I went through while the hospital figured out that she was the drug addict not me. Now I am a nurse and some of the things I see are unspeakable. There is so much incompetence in health care. I guess you know this first hand dont you?

Yes, but to many to name. My favorite one was I went to the ER for something and they needed to take blood and give me a IV. After the nurse poked me 2 or 3 times she asked if my veins rolled and if I could help her try to find a vein!! I have great veins, they are easy to see and they don't roll. I almost took the needle from her to do it myself.

I had a Navy corpsman tell me that I was "constipated."

The only reason I'm alive is because another corpsman properly diagnosed my ruptured appendix.
