Nintendo Wii Pros
-Motion Sensitive Technology
-Classic Nintendo Games
-Backwards Compatible With Gamecube games, as well as -Gamecube controllers
-Low Price
Nintendo Wii Cons
-Motion Sensitive controls don't sync up well with the game most of the time
-In order to purchase classic Nintendo games you must first purchase points to use
-Third party titles are very poorly made
-Very hard to get one
Xbox 360 Pros
-Amazing games (Dead Rising, Gears of War, Bioshock, Halo 3)
-Great online with Xbox Live ($50 per year)
-Great graphics, even without an HD TV
-Achievements which are earned by completing certain tasks within a game, are used to buy things online
Xbox 360 Cons
-Red Ring of Death (Although Microsoft has released a new model in which they fix this problem)
In my opinion Xbox 360 is the better buy. I had the Wii at one point but I got bored with it and got and Xbox 360 instead.

Depends on what you are planning on doing with your console. If your into more competitive more action games with great multiplayer then the 360 is definitely the way to go. If you just want to play anything and dont care then get the Wii because it is a lot easier to approach and learn and have a good time. I personally have a 360 and love it and it was worth every bit of money. I have rock band for the 360 which is a great party game (although the wii probably still is more fun for parties) One thing thats nice about the 360 IMO is the Xbox live arcade. You can buy simple small games that are fun and addictive that you can jump in and play at any time, for like 8 bucks a game. give or take a dollar. Bottom line though. If your a casual gamer. get the Wii. if your into shooters and competetiveness and a fun community. get the 360
Edit: you do NOT have to have a high definition TV to play the 360 regardless of what that guy up there says. the Cables that come with it come with high def options or standard options.

i have a lot of friends who own a wii. They all said that after a month they don't play it anymore. its cuz its the same thing over and over again. If you think about it, in order to play ever single game on the wii, you can be sittin on da couch n swinging your arms. it doesn't get u active and its no different than any other system. i would prefer a XBOX 360 because it has more games than wii including halo 3 which made more money than PS3 itself!

I personally prefer the wii, the wiimote offers a new way to play games that immerses you more into it than simple button bashing, also I'm a Legend of Zelda fan and only Nintendo makes that game, then theres the Virtual Console which lets you download classic games from a various consoles like the N64, SNES, NES, Genesis, Turbographix, NeoGeo and more coming soon like the MSX, however if first person shooters is what your wanting to play more than anything else then the 360 is the console for that..

All my friends like the Xbox 360 because of the graphics but I personally like the Wii.
It really depends on what games you like: sports, first hand shooters go for xbox
Physical active games or strategy go for wii

The WII ...has more flexibility. You can buy the traditional "sit and toggle" video games where all you do is use a hand control. Or you can buy the more active video games (like the WII sports games) where you actually get up and move while you play.
